Fulfilling My Parent's Dream (By Living My Own)

Image
A love note to freedom, family, and choosing your path. When people talk about fulfilling their parents’ dreams, often it’s something like: “They wanted me to become a doctor, so I did.” “They wanted me to run the family business, so I stayed.” “They wanted me to carry on the legacy, so I worked hard to honor it.” My story? A little different. My parents had one dream—and it wasn’t about a title, a salary, or a path they wanted me to follow. Their only dream was this: That I would have the freedom to choose my own dream. And that, my friends, is exactly what I did. The Gift They Gave Me Growing up, I watched my parents navigate life, sacrifices, and responsibilities. Like many in their generation, they didn’t always get to “choose.” Life chose for them. Duty chose for them. Survival chose for them. And yet… instead of asking me to carry what they couldn’t, they gave me something else entirely: freedom. The freedom to explore. The freedom to fail. The freedom to get curious...

Not Lonely, Just Aligned - A Healer’s Take on Solitude, Relationships, and the Sacred Space In Between

Image
You know that woman who dines alone at her favorite restaurant, sipping her tea like she owns the place? Or that guy who doesn’t say much in groups but somehow radiates calm like a forest you want to get lost in? People often whisper, “Aww, they seem so alone…” Meanwhile, they’re thinking, “Finally. Healing often looks like you are the odd one out. As an energy medicine practitioner — and just a human who’s been thoroughly initiated through life — I’ve come to see solitude not as a red flag, but as a rite of passage. There was a time when I would say yes to every invitation, reply to every message with a “haha sure!” and bend my...

Your Body Is a Living QR Code

And It’s  Probably Time for a  Scan You know those little black-and-white QR codes we scan to look at menus or get WiFi passwords at a café? (And half the time we still pretend we know how to use them, even though we end up zooming in and out like confused time travellers.) Well, believe it or not, your body kind of works the same way. Stay with me. I’m not saying you’re secretly a walking tech gadget (although that  would explain the strange noises your  joints make). What I am saying is this: Your body is holding an incredible  amount of information  and most of us are walking around without ever scanning it. The Birth of the QR Code and What It Has to Do with  You Here’s a fun fact: barcodes were great, but they could only hold so much data. Then came QR codes  born out of necessity, to store more  info quickly and accurately. This made me think about the human  body. We’re kind of the original QR  code, aren’t we?  I mean e...
